About the Centre of Excellence
The Centre of Excellence is a strategic, multi-functional platform that accelerates sustainability-driven transformation through skill development, research, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem engagement. It is designed to systematically identify gaps, generate scalable solutions, and drive their adoption across institutions, markets, and communities.
By combining capacity building, innovation, and collaborative partnerships, the Centre aims to translate sustainability ambitions into measurable impact. The programme will implement its vision through the following four verticals, namely, Skill and Knowledge Development, Translational Research, Innovation and Incubation, and Research Fellowships.
About the Workshop
A one-day workshop on “Future Skills for Sustainable Development” is oriented towards equipping undergraduate students of all disciplines with exposure to sustainability and introducing them to skill development in the area of sustainability.
About the Call for Ideas
As a part of the workshop, IHCFSI invites a Call for Ideas under the “Sustainability Innovation Challenge”, encouraging undergraduate students of any stream in teams of 3 or 4 to submit innovative, practical, and scalable solutions addressing some of today’s most pressing sustainability challenges.

Guidelines
Please review the following guidelines carefully before submitting your idea.
Team Composition
Each team must consist of at least 3 and no more than 4 students.
Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged. Team members may come from diverse academic or technical backgrounds, with each enrolled in an undergraduate programme.
A team may have one faculty mentor (advisory role only).
Submission Requirements
Each team must submit a 2-page write-up describing the following:
Problem statement
Novelty
Proposed innovation / solution
Sustainability impact
Implementation approach
Incubation potential
General Rules
Submissions must be original work of the participating students.
Plagiarism or AI-generated content without proper referencing will lead to disqualification.
The decision of IHCFSI and the evaluation panel will be final and binding.
Awards
First Prize – ₹10,000
Second Prize – ₹5,000
The top two teams will receive cash prizes of ₹10,000 for first place and ₹5,000 for second place, along with certificates.
